LIVE ART TENT organized by Homer Council on the Arts
Join Homer Council on the Arts at the Live Art Tent at Homer Harborfest!
Come watch 10 local Artists showcase their skills as they create gorgeous art right in front of you! 10 artists will rotate through the tent in shifts of 2-3 to create a work of art over 2 and a half hours. Their creations will then be auctioned off on Saturday evening. Proceeds from the auction go to support the artists and HCOA’s dedication to making the arts accessible to all members of our community.
Can’t stay for the live auction? Check out the silent auction or stop by the HCOA sales tent where the featured artists will be selling prints and small works.
Kachemak Bay Wooden Boat Society hosts Boat Building for Kids!
We’re excited to welcome back the Kachemak Bay Wooden Boat Society with one of Homer’s favorite traditions! Bring the kids out to roll up their sleeves and build their own wooden boat.
Boat building will take place on:
Friday: 2-4:30 PM
Saturday: 1-4 PM
Friday - U.S. Coast Guard Day
Friday, June 5 is Coast Guard Day at HarborFest!
Join us on Friday at Noon for several Coast Guard ceremonies, including a Civilian Commendation Ceremony for two local water taxi crews who responded to a maritime emergency in 2025, and a Chief Pinning Ceremony.
The fast response cutter Earl Cunningham will be here from Kodiak, and both the Aspen and Earl Cunningham will be available for public tours on Friday from 12:30-4:30 PM. No HarborFest ticket required!
